RE: shooting practise before next season
SJ,
Since I'm an avid shooter and reloader I may shoot a little more than most. I usually fire approximately 500 rounds a month thru my .45 ACP and a litter more than that thru my S&W M-27. During prairie dog season I may shot as much as 1200 rounds a month from a .22-250, .222 and a .243. On top of that I experiment with several other rifles with different powders and bullets. Right now I'm enjoying wringing out a new .30-06. Next month I'm going on an Oryx hunt on White Sands Missle Range on a once in a lifetime type hunt. I intend to use a Rem. M-700 in 7mm RM useing a Sierra 160 grain HPBT as the primary rifle and the .30-06 with a Sierra 165 grain SBT bullet as back up. In the last three weeks I've fired 200 rounds thru these two rifles. It seems as if the hunt almost serves as an excuse to play with the toys.
