I'd rank your wood from top to bottom, ash, maple, elm, red oak... and scratch pine off the list. Pine can make a bow, but it has to be so long, flat and wide to keepfrom over stressing the wood andbreaking that it just isn't really practical.
Thanks for the info Arthur! I think I'm going to widdle myself a bow this summer.
