Your information does not surprise me at all. When I read that there were safety issues with the rifle, I was kind of surprised. Thompson Center from what I understand along with Knight and many of the other companies do extensive testing of their rifles before they ever allow them to hit the consumer market. That is why a rifle might be scheduled for release, and suddenly the date is put back. Why they never say, but I suspect they either found something they wanted to fix, or something they could do to make the product even better.
I was not aware of the accuracy guarantee, which is very impressive. I also figured, like the Omega, if a BDC scope was put on the rifle there would be no reason it would not work on the Omega or the Triumph. In fact I am going to consider a Leupold with the BDC for the new Knight Disc Extreme with the Master Hunter barrel I ordered. I think that rifle should act in very much the same manner as an Omega or Triumph with an Omega scope. The Leupold and new rifleis kind of my treat to myself. And I do deserve it. I've been good a long time.
I handled a Triumph. And this might sound strange, but I did not like the feel of the stock. Also I opened the action to inspect that breech plug, and could not get the action to close again. So I felt kind of foolish. I liked the Omega much more, and had no problems with it, and the operations of it.
My favorite rifles to handle in the inline department has to be Knight rifles. Although my White UM is a sweet rifle to shoulder as well. I do not think you would go wrong with the Triumph. And a
big thanks for taking the time to call them and get that all cleared up. If you ever get back to Gander Mountain and see that person from before, you might wish to enlighten him with your new knowledge and mention to him that he did you a great injustice by his prior actions.
Also check around before you buy one if you are going to do so.. There are some good deals out there. And I am not worried about on line purchases. Most of the stores will bend over backward (all but one) to make sure you are happy with your purchase.
