Thats pretty broad. There are several baits that would work, but if your cover is close to the bank, heavy, and the water is murky I would use either a jig and pig or a soft plastic bait like a powerbait in a six to eight inch worm texas rigged. Color is tough. It depends on a lot of factors, and you might want to look at some previous posts on the subject. I would use either black with some bright blue for either a jig and pig or a soft plastic, or in a soft plastic especially, you might want to try a shock color like electric watermelon or some other color like that. Really it all depends on your fish. Just experiment with different lures at different depths. Also don' t forget to work an area completely before leaving. Another thing about your water conditions that might help would be rattles and some sort of scent. If a fish has problems seeing a bait it becomes even more important to trigger their other senses.
