Default Lure selection

Hey guys...I got a question. I fish a farm pond behind our house, and it is usually kinda murky. I mean, from the boat, I can' t see real far down into the water, but if a fish comes up close to the surface, I can see it. I don' t use a fishfinder, all I use is what' s in my tackle box, my rod, and a 12-ft aluminum boat. I fish when it is anywhere from 50 degrees to 80 degrees. What kind and what color lure do I use when I am fishing these conditions. There are some lawn bushes out in there that we' ve thrown out there, and there are some branches that we threw in there. All provide good cover for Largemouths. All of the cover that I know of is close to the bank. What lure should I use, what color should I use, and under what conditions when I fish these areas?

I' ve heard that a red and white lure of anykind will trigger a strike when the fish aren' t biting. Is this true?
