RE: Newfoundland Moose
According to B&C they consider only 3 types of moose, the alaskan-yukon, the canadian and the shiras. So the closer you get in canada to alaska/yukon, I would suspect the bigger the canadian moose are. At one show the guy had a world record SCI bow....canadian moose. It wasn't from the west, nor newfounland, it was I think quebec or ontario, maybe manitoba, but not newfie, or west of manitoba. If you really want to kknow/search BC records, sign up on their site for trophy search, and search "canadian moose" in the last 10 years or 5 years? or all time? that'll tell you exact locations.....
PS- I really want to take a moose, esp with a bow. I'm trying to draw a shiras in the US, down the road I may book a bow hunt, maybe a rifle for a canadian moose, if I do I think I'm going west/nw canada for a big canadian, I haven't looked at prices of these hunts too much but if I can hunt an alaskan yukon for the price of a trophy canadian I'd go after a AY moose instead, 70" sounds much nicer than 50" but i suspect AY moose cost sig more.
