I used alums for years and just switched to carbons last season. I am very satisified with the carbons performance so far. What I like most is their durability.
I shoot Carbon Express CX Hunter (camo). Wt. wise these seem to be middle of the road at 9.4 gpi. Go to the web site
www.thegametracker.com to see a wide variety Carbon Express arrows from 8 gpi to 12 gpi. For deer hunting, 8 gpi is the lightest I will go.
