Maybe he was referring to a somewhat serrated or "burr" edge as opposed to a very smooth edge. But generally sharper is better, IMO. Also, don't get too caught up in the "Bad to the Bone" slogan. Muzzys are great - don't get me wrong - but I would venture that a G5 Montec could make it through bone even easier than a Muzzy - and do it with all it's blades intact.
