Default RE: question about .280 remington pump

sr.corndog....

i had three rem 7600' s all synthetics stocks. one of them was in the 280rem.they are great " work horse " guns and have taken them through the rain and muck in the maine swamps with no problems with them. the only thing i really did not like about the rem 7600' s was that when i had to steady my shots or aim. i had to hold right under where the magazine is. due to my arm length.
i was only getting anywhere from 1.3/4 to 2" groups with those guns using factory ammo.
i don' t know how tough the wild pigs are due to never hunting them but if you reload you have a better selection of ammo that way. i have used the 140gr failsafes 140gr. and 160gr. rem core lokt' s. i roughly paid about $18.00 for a box of ammo around my area. hope this helps. i think the 140gr. is a good bullet for deer sized game. i also here alot of people talking about the 139gr. from hornaday.

i forgot. the trigger is awfull. i tried to get a timnet trigger for it but i could not get one for them. gotta deal with it set about 4# to 4.5#
