RE: New Muzzle Loader from CMMT,, wow.
Wolf,
I would see your point in that case.
Of course, I currently live in Ms where you can take them just about any way you can think of. AP mines will be on the agenda next year. You can shoot em, stab em, shotgun, buckshot, slugs, rifle, muzzy, bow, crossbow, 300 winmag, 338 lapua mag, there is no end. Ooops, can't shoot em w/ a 22 or with a spotlight. I either use my Encore on the preserve I hunt or choose between a 300 WM or 308 at the club, depending on where I'll be and what the shots look like. Heck, next year I think I am going to get my AR10 in 308 after one next year just to try it.
Seriously, deer hunting here is getting out of hand. We have so many that everyone I know gets their limit of 6 or 8 (two additional w/ a bow) and most clubs have unlimited doe management tags. And, with a season that goes from the first of October (start of bow) through the end of Jan. You can imagine how many deer we get. Also, they changed the muzzle loader law here last year to a "primitive" law which includes all single shot rifles of 38 caliber or larger if the gun was designed before 1900. So, most guys have dumped their 50 and 45 muzzies and have bought handirifles or buffalo guns in 38-55, 45-70, 45 colt etc. Most people don't even muzzy hunt here anymore unless they are on a preserve or place that still requires it.
