Here in texas Bow season is Pretty much four weeks long, running from the end of September to the end of October. After that It' s gun season from November to the middle of January. A Lot more than nine days. You can bow hunt during rifle season though.
I told a cowworker how much my new bow was going to cost and his kneejerk reply was " you could get a darn nice rifle for that" . I agree. Rifles seem to have a higher value in mainsteam society. And much better resale. Try selling a five year old bow for 3/4 of new cost- not going to happen.
