Default RE: Chrony data from yesterday. Mostly PR Bullets

ORIGINAL: yeoman

I just bought a Green Mountain barrel for my FL, it came yesterday. However it is the short 21" carbine barrel. I am sure it will shoot 100 accurately with open sights. 1:28 twist.
Gleason.chapman - it must be quite a challenge to shoot a FL with great accuracy. I guess you become so accustomed to the flash-in-the-pan that it becomes second nature to block that out? I've never fired one. I am impressed with the GM barrel I bought. Do you think there are slight differences between barrels which are specked the same by a manufacturer? Enough to produce a variance in shooting results? Will you be giving the new barrel a bore paste treatment followed by seasoning before you shoot it? Sabotloader had a good post on the procedure about this time last year. I followed his procedure. Maybe he still has that. Good luck with it. I look forward to seeing some results posted here.
I am not that accurate a FL shooter, I have gotten 1 deer with mine. The Barrel I had on the gun was a 1:48 TC barrel, it was accurate at 50 yards with 300g Gold Dots, but I wanted a lighter shorter barrel. I am not as concerned about accuracy with the short barrel FL, so I will not do all the JB bore paste etc. I got to return the stock to TC, I noticed last night when I fitted the new barrel that the wedge pin hole on the LHS of the rifle is completely punched out, so I have to get that repaired. Will send the stock back to TC this weekend. So it will be late spring before I start shooting it. I hope to shoot it a lot more, because I am not that great a FL shooter. Chap Gleason
