I had a used Matthews FX that I used for quite a few years. Hardly paid anything for it and shot a lot of animals with it.
Every year new bows would come out with new "bells and whistles" and I thought I was really missing something so in '03 or 04', I took the bait and bought a new Matthews LX.
Spent about a grand on it after all new accessories. Still my current bow.
Does the LX shoot smoother than my old FX? yes, partly because it is a about pound heavier. Not an issue hunting whitetails but it is when elk and mule deer hunting.
Is it more accurate? Not when I shoot it, about the same
Is it faster? A little, but not substantial
Aftershooting it for a few months, I realized that I would have been just as well off with my FX.
I am not knocking it if that is your deal, but I honestly do not understand this obsession some of you guys have to buy a new bow every year.
I like thefamiliarity and memories associatedwith my current bow. It gives me comfort and confidence when hunting. If that sounds corny, then so be it.
