not far at all...the night before i dont shower with soap...just scrub my body and hair with water...dont brush my teeth just brush with water that morning...no deoderant or anything smelly...and i hunt the wind...also i wash my clothes in regular water and dry on the line...off season they hang in the garage that smells like outside....some say thats not enough but i have yet to have a deer bust me if i didnt move and the wind was right....now when they come in the wind im busted before they get withing 50yds or so...with the wind perfect and im motionless ive been fine with a bunch of eyes at 5yds...even in my turkey clothes during the spring which a i take no precautions for i still have them close....im not all caught up in the scent lock stuff and soaps and stuff...maybe one day i will change but i hope not...if you think they are needed great..im nto against them at all...i just dont think the way i hunt needs them...
