RE: Your thoughts.. be honest..
Ok, most of you guys have seen pics of my bucks and here recently of my family members bucks as well as friends. I can tell you this, almost all of these bucks came fromone chunk of land or within a mile or so of each other. You can ride one county over and not find a buck anywhere close to the ones we have killed over the past 30 yrs at our farm. Location is a big thing, deer are attracted to certain areas and the genetics of those areas certainly help. Now, GregH has some great land and he wouldn't be able to shoot those deer if they weren't there, Greg has enough sense to obtain those places, he is not a rookie. He is fortunate and skillful at the same time, as well as I have been very lucky and skillful to kill the bucks that I have killed. I agree, if you put Rob, or Matt, or GMATT in my property, they would close the deal on a good buck for sure, and so would GregH, same as if you put most of us on Greg's property, I don't think our ability as hunters is the question, the post was supposed to address the "beginner's luck syndrome" vs. season veterans taking big bucks and who is bothered by rookies killing the big boys in their first year.
