I have no issue with someone going out and getting a P&Y buck very early on in their hunting career. It all depends on what kind of land they'll be hunting as well. If a rookie hunter is hunting on prime ground then he'll most likely beat the old hunter that's hunting worn out land (state land) by miles. Put the rookie hunter on the state land and if he hasn't killed something within a couple of years he'll probably quit and I wouldn't blame him for doing so.
