RE: Savage 24F .223 over 12 gauge
Well if you have a good one ,keep it.The idea of a combo rifle /shotgun is very practical.I'd make it hammerless with selective ejectors and one trigger with a barrel selector like the Browning Citori with intrical Weaver bases milled to the reciever. You shouldn't have to regulate the barrels if it was done right the first time at the factory but some sort of adjustment easy adjustment system would be nice.Preferably for rimmed rifle cartridges only ie .303 Brit,30-40 Krag,45-70 over a 20 or 12 ga with chromed barrel for all shot and screw in chokes. This should have run the cost up.Sounds like a Merkle!I'd be happy if they just fixed their barrels and went hammerless and they'd still have a functional utility gun.............Harold [stainless?]
