From what I understand to maintain lower production costsTikka moved the bolt stop forwardon the longaction to eliminate the longer bolt throw for the WSM cartridges...Doesn't hurt the accuracy at all...My Tikka T3 .270 WSM shoots just as well as my Remington 700 short action .308.
