I guess this is more along the lines of personal preference over functionality, but I’d like to see what you guys do.

When picking an arrow to shoot (hunt with) what process do you go by, BESIDES getting a properly spined one? Assume all scenarios use a properly spined arrow.

In regards to total arrow weight, FOC, head weight, material of construction, etc? Do you follow the 9 gr/lb guide? Or do you prefer to go higher?
