Well the temptation to fire the GPR got me today. After reading a couple posts on another forum and how they shot, i took my .54 GPR flinter out today loaded with 10 grains 4F goex, 70 grains Pyrodex P. First shot i over charged the pan, next shot i cut the charge down to maybe 3-4 grains, Squeezed the trigger and BAM! That SOB went off like my percussion rifle!! Its dead on @ 25 yards after i drifted the rear sight over a wee bit. I honestly am really surprised at how nice and smooth this rifle goes off. To hell with buying a percussion barrel! lol.

Took a total of 3 shots. #3 shot took 4 pans of primer powder before i had to tap some into the touch hole to get to it to go off. Thats the downside when Duplexing powders. Once i start running straight Goex in this rifle, its going to be bad medicine for anything in its path.

Now i have to go back out and look for patches.
