Deerslayer223 - Maybe I can give you some incentive to give a Vortex a go. Before I bought I went around and read all kind of posts. Here is one rating in the Cabelas catalog:

"I bought my first horton legacy 225, it seemed fine at first, but give it about 20 shots, the string broke, and trigger was way too stiff. I called horton and sent it in, paid for the overnight back to me and it didn't come, called them and they sent me a whole brand new package. I shot this setup around 20 or so times, it hit great, then all of the sudden I couldn't keep it on my block target at 20 yards. I went over crossbow checked everything, and also changed the scope. It still fired all over the place. I returned it and bought myself a real crossbow Excalibur Vortex, and I am very satisfied. The string dampener system may look good on the horton, but it is just too new of technology, it needs tweaked a lot. Maybe the horton legacy will be a better crossbow in a few years but for now do not waste your money. Spend the extra money and check out an Excalibur. I am only talking from experience with the product."
