Jeff, I'm glad you made this post. This is what I'm going to get for christmas, but I'm going a different route. I'm going with an "Advanced" point and shoot. The highest level point and shoot before you get into the SLR's. The ones I'm looking at are between 12x and 15x OPTICAL zoom. I'm excited, just for having it during hunting season.
