Like Wacker said, rough it up good at home with some fine sandpaper then take a piece of green scrubber pad to the field with you and keep it roughed up often. Then try a rosewood striker on it. I' ve been using a rosewood on an aluminum call for a few years now and it has been the demise of several gobblers. I' ve tried several different strikers on it and the rosewood sounds by far the best with excellent cutts and raspy yelps. Give it a try!!
