Default RE: 3-Official Team The Ruttin Rebels Thread

Well after getting my BUTT whipped in ILL. I decided to go over to alittle farm I can hunt in Missouri, it is only a 20 minute drive from my cabin in Pike co, Ill..so I went over and hung a couple of tree stands, some descent sign, the lady who owns it only lets me and her son hunt it.. Well she tells me that he has been in New Orleans working and hasnt been there to hunt any, well that was welcome news..
I had cameras up early fall and didnt get any pics of any shooter buck, so I was concentrating on places I was seeing BIG ones at, my mistake, hunted for a couple of days, seen several does and small bucks, shot a turkey, that was fun and tasty!!
I moved one stand to the creek bottom next to a picked corn field and seen him on the first sit at 75 yards, felt like I was having siezures I was shaking so hard, finally a shooter buck, it had been so long, well he disappeared that evening in a thicket about 100 yards away, I had to decide do I move or stay put..I stayed put, did a scent drag the next morning with some James Valley and at 10:30 am here he came, he got to within 40 yards, I like them a little closer, I shoot good at that distance, but was hesitant, he disappeared again in the heavy brush..I was a little calmer this time, That evening I sat in the same stand and at around 3:00pm he came in behind me, very quietly, I didnt see him till he was 20 yards, as he passed my tree I pulled back and when he cleared it I let a montec tipped arrow fly, hit him right where I wanted to, he headed out into the field and made it to the edge of the thicket, stood there for a minute or two and started weaving and fell backwards..I was one happy bowhunter, took some pics, not easy by yourself, called him in and went and got my truck and took him up to the farm and hung him in the ladies barn where I hunt and come back the next day and took care of him, skinned him, deboned it and caped it out and skull plated it, now I am eating backstrap and took him to the taxidermist..I am a Happy RUTTIN REBEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanted to say GOOD LUCK to everyone on the team and wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OH yeh and HAPPY HUNTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
