RE: HOW TO SCARE DEER AWAY
NOTHING wrong WITH HARVESTING A mature doe,IF YOU HAVE TOO MANY in area.
but thats not case in WMU2G here in clinton/cameron/potter counties.
i had 3 doe on publicland ,i would say in a 4 or 5 mile area sq.how do i know, i hunt and walk year round.
i know more than most hunters what is in areas in wmu2g.
why, because i am out there 4 times a week, AT LEAST.
NOW, AT NOON ON TUESDAY, A FATHER /SON SHOT THE MOTHER AND HER FAWN.
i think the other doe was shot this week also.
now you can see why i am trying to protect those doe/fawn.
hunters today will shoot a fawn, they dont care.
they dont have any idea what is left in area to hunt or do they care.
they ride around ,find doe and shoot it.
its legal but is it hurting the future hunting for that kid that shot fawn.
YES.most likely he will stop hunting or just continue to kill a FAWN.
my dad would not let us shoot a fawn at 12 yrs old.
today, its BROWN ITS DOWN, FAVORITE SAYING AT HIGH SCHOOL.
i killed my share of doe.
but it was when we had at least 20 doe in that 4 mile area, but we would only kill MATURE DOE.I HAVE NOT KILLED DOE IN 13 YEARS HERE IN CLINTON/POTTER/CAMERON.
i have friends that are still out trying to fill their 1 doe tag and 2 DMAP tags here in clinton county.
they also have 1 doe tag and 2 DMAP tags for their 3 kids.
do they fill them, YOU BET.
THEY HUNT EVERYDAY INCLUDING THE WEEK OF OCT MUZZLELOADER.
so,thats 12 doe to 1 family,think about that one.
last year they had 6 DMAP PERMITS,so they could get 21 doe per family.do you think WMU2G can handle all those permits when doe are very little left.its NUTS and we cant stop it.
then you see other hunters that dont even see a deer..
it should be 1 deer and your done in WMU2G.
does anyone really care tho?NO.
