I hunt private land in Gladwin Co, Michigan - passed on six bucks during the gun seaason and at least that many during the bow season. No mature bucks, didn't even see one 2.5 year old which in this neck of the woods most people wouldn't event think twice of shooting. Dealing with neighbors that shoot anything that walks by, poachers Amish, etc....
