RE: disposal of deer remains
my neighbors leave all their hunting remains in the woods near our home or near our property lines. they also poach alot. then if they kill beef,or hogs also we get all kinds of animal remains drug into our yard and on the porch by our dogs. we have 4 dogs 3 are tied due to various reasons--alot of which is due to this problem. while our dogs are the culprits dragging in the remains they are only doing what they natuarally will do. but while our yard used to be-an at times still is coverd in animal heads , hides, bones and some times even whole shoulders from deer, their yards stay nice neat and clean.
they take a great pride in their yard. i told my husband we should load up our trucks full of this stuff and deposit it in THEIR yards and on their porches one day when they are not home. perhaps they will get the picture. they only have at least 80 acres to dump the stuff on but they would rather leave it along our fence line for some reason. also we have an uprise of rabbies here now and this worries me about the animals that are comming in to eat this and maybe spreading the disease.--nothing like having to look at a hogs head or deer parts each time you step out side and it looks lovely for guests.
i myself allow the dogs certain trimmings of meats we should butcher and other parts disposed of for nature away from homes and certain things left in the garbage too.
