What's the purpose of contesting a court of law? Happens all the time though.
I think it's just to keep things at an "even playing field"....if there were such a thing. Rob is right though....It's fact that after 60 days the antlers will no longer shrink. If everyone has to score after that period, it's even. What if someone measured theirs 2 days after killing it, and it was, lets say.....127 inches... (

) and goes in the P&Y book. Another guy score his at 63 days and comes up with 127 inches...that first guys buck is now lets say 124 4/8......misses book.....
Just a form of control to keep it even....
