Looking to purchase a new rifle, I hunt whitetail in texasmy shots are between 65 and250 yards. I need helpin deciding between a 308 and 270 cal.
I'd go .308. The .270 is ballistically superior, but at the ranges you mention for whitetail, there is no substantial diff between the two; the .308 is a short action, and may have a little less muzzle blast.
