Default RE: Wyoming Rifle Hunting question

I live in Gillette, WY. We don' t use tree stands normally. A windmill is good for antelope tho. ' bout all you see are evergreens in the mountains here. Tough to climb, tough to see or shoot through. I can' t sit still, but when I try, it' s on the ground with a tree, bushes, or rock behind me to break up my outline. There are many places to do this on the top of or part-way up the side of gulleys or smaller valleys. We usually still-hunt. Not standing still, but taking 1,2, or 3 steps at a time, pausing in the open, or better yet, at something to break up your outline to meticulously scan the areas in front, to the sides, and even behind us as we cover ground slowly. hope this helps!

P.S. Sorry, I shouldn' t have said we. As you can see from crobride' s letter above this, there are tree stands used here. Crobride' s from Jackson, where they have trees, in Gillette, no trees, just wind! lol.
