Not that difficult, when returning home form a successful guided trip almost all people would be jumping at the chance to show their success to their teammate not to mention the whole bowhunting community we have here. I can barely think of any case that successful bowhunters haven't come home from guided hunts to showcase their hunt, especially when they've been the best buck ever.
I think that is assuming a lot. Some people may schedule a couple weeks of doubles when they return from their trip and then roll right into their home state archery season. Then, instead of being able to share their story with others here they would instead have their character called into question for doing something shadey when in fact they did nothing wrong. That would be a real shame.
Many people have friends here too, phone calls are made and usually word of the deer is on the board long before the succesful hunter has made it out of the woods. It's a great community.
I have been an active member for almost 5 years and never placed a phone call to another member. Again, assuming a lot.
I can't for the life of me think of a single reason why anyone would want to keep a successful harvest a secret.
Who kept a kill "secret"??
If need be, that's what captains are for. To settle the what ifs, what the hells and the foul play.
Really?? voting on leaf thickness? I realize questions will come up and need to be dealt with but this one seems imposible to be accurate and something guys in trucks will not be held to the same scrutiny.
Shame on those who lie and cheat, it's hard to believe anyone could be so dishonest.
Agree 100%............but bringing that suspicion on someone who has done nothing wrong is worse IMO.
