That feeling
Jeff's post about getting your heart pumping brought to mind another feeling.
I am talking about that feeling I get when I have deer at close range and they have no idea I am in THEIR WORLD. To me it doesn't get any better than that. I fooled them in the woods they live in.
As I mature as a bowhunter and pass on more animals, I am enjoying that feeling more and more. I have been very close to more deer this year than any year before. And have the pictures to prove it.And I can honestly say I have not been seen or busted by any deer that I have seen this year. Not to say I wasn't caught by one I didn't see. But I actually had to spook one that had bedded by me for 4 hours. I just needed to leave at 11:00 that day.
The more time I spend with whitetails close to me the more I learn about their behavior. And the better bowhunter it makes me. I also feel this makes it easier to remain sort of in control when it comes time to make a shot on one.
