i agree with all of you.
back when i hunted bear,you were allowed 1 bear per crew.
no cubs could be shot.
we even left mother and her cubs go if we saw cubs with her.
i knew WCO here in clinton county well, he found or had reported very few cub bears shot by hunters by mistake..

QUESTION IS,WHY COULD WE TELL A CUB BACK THEN HUNTING BUT HUNTERS TODAY HAVE PROBLEM SEEING CUB?

i hear comments like,OH HE WAS RUNNING AND I THOUGHT HE WEIGHTED 500 PDS.

that is type of hunter you have today.

if you cant tell if its cub and running,LET IT GO.
no cub at 150 yds running looks like a grown bear, no way.

canada allows baiting of bears so stupid hunters can tell if its mother and cubs.

idiots you see today in woods here in pa. still would not know the difference.

here is latest, we had cubs checked in here in clinton county.
the big bear killers of cubs are now LEAVING GUTS in bears so they weight more.
1 was 40 pds ,so without guts, around 25 pds.
my small dog weights 80 pds.

its no wonder antis will someday put end to this,stupid ignorant hunters that shootcubs will be end of our bear hunting.
i also put blame on the PGC .
