Default RE: .22LR enough for coyotes?

If your Ruger is like most, it shoots straight, and fast.

I' ve taken several coyotes with different .22lrs, and have had good success, that is, not one has ran away, I shoot them under the ear (where the skull is thinnest) or through the heart with a quartering away shot when I can enter the body through the " floating" ribs. I' d never shoot one over 50yrds away, and more often than not I double tap them just in case...which isn' t for everyone, I can bump fire my marlins, 10rnds in under 3 sec, or 17rnds in under 5, I can hit the same can three times before it falls off the fence. WHen Iknow I have a good shot, I don' t do that, but when they are good sized and I' m trying to go through the ribcage, it' s easier to let one bullet lead the other in.
