I agree. Spring is the best time, but my brother-in-law found this one on my Dad's place November 3 this year. We had a guy hunting with us last year that missed him during bow season, and we never saw it again. We were thinking somebody probably shot him, but it looks like he made it through the year. It is pretty amazing it wasn't chewed up anymore than it was.
