My wooden stocks all have scratches and the blueing is worn off, I've carried them so long...Some are 30-35 years old...It gives a gun character, for the most part, I'd forget it....If you want to refinish during the off season then all I do is try to iron out the deeper dings, lightly sand the finish and rub the finish with linseed oil...If you aren't good with wood, most gunsmiths could refinish the stock for you....
