I would choose the 300WSM. Great round, slightly better than a 300WM, but if you want a lighter, mountain gun the WSM is the way to go. In choosing a H&H, Whelen or Savage, your bullet selection is limited and in some cases may be real expensive. If you go to Federals web site, they have a great ballistics program that you can look at all the rounds.
