When faced with death deer can do great things. The one and only deer I took with a gun was a broken eight point shot with a .50 cal in-line. He was twenty five yards out and I hit the sweet spot right up the inside leg. But he ran off out of sight and into a woods about 80 yards away, I was shocked. Got down out of tree and zero blood! None at all! I went to where he ran in the woods and he was about ten yards in the woods down and out, but zero blood any where! When I field dress him I blew up his heart! I only found one small piece of the bottom tip of the heart about the size of a walnut! He had no heart, no blood pressure, and no fresh blood in his meat! But he ran 80 to 100 yards on fear! And it was fear and not adrenalin because he had to heart to pump it around! I was amazed when I seen the small piece of heart left!
