You know when I first read this I thought sure, I would probably do it. Then after thinking about it I am not sure if I would or not. I think maybe it would depend on the situation. In Michigan I am pretty sure it would be illegal, you would be tagging someone elses deer.

Would I take a buddy out there and specifically tell him, "Hey, I have a few doe tags go ahead and put one down if you want and I'll tag it.", probably not. And if someone offered that to me, I would probably pass. That being said where I live I wouldn't have a problem with someone doing it. I don't think I would be enraged or so upset I would say something or turn them in. I just don't think it is something I would do is all. If that makes me a bad person I will just have to live with it.

Now, if my buddy was a new hunter and he messed up and shot an antlerless deer somehow I would have no problem burning one of my tags on it. I don't think it would even phase me. Here in Michigan we don't have to check deer in or anything. Just shoot them, put a tag on it and take it home or to a processor.

My biggest problem with telling someone to take a doe and use my tag would be if they got caught. What if they shot it and were waiting for me to tag it and a game warden came around? Things might not go so well then. I honestly don't think it would be huge deal, but it's still not worth it to me.
