I agree that the same bullet should be used to compare stats. However in this case Winchester is bashing thier own other cartridge. I quess they figure that everyone who would buy the old 300 mag has already done so and want to move on to sell everyone the short version. It won,t work on me. If I wanted a new mag rifle at this point, I would buy the short one just for the action. However if I had a full size mag I would not sell it to buy a short mag. Never believed in keeping up with the in crowd. I am looking with interest at the new Super Short 223 and 243 short mags. And would love to see a quarter bore Super Short Mag. The 223 short mag is supposed to be 200 fps faster than the 22-250. I wonder though about barrel life.
