My shooting sticks are homemade. Did it for three dollars and they are just as steady as the $40 one, I've used both. Get two 1/2 inch wooden dowels from walmart and drill a hole 5 inches from the top and put a bolt threw it. I wrapped mine in electrical tape. Took 10 minutes to make and you can cut them to length.
