I did my own in my M 37 Ithaca Deerslayer. use fine hard Arkansas stones, polish up the surfaces of the moving parts and engaging surfaces/notches, etc., BUT DON' T REMOVE ANY METAL OR CHANGE ANY ANGLES OF ENGAGING NOTCHES, ETC.
