Default RE: Powerbelts

Short story:

IMHO-Go heavy-275-300g for 45 cal shooters, and 348 and up for 50 cal folks. Ya need to slow Powerbelts down to about 1200 feet per second at the muzzle. This means about 60grains powder for 45cal, and about 70-75g powder for 50cal shooters. This will give you all the penatration and blood trails you will Ever need. Most times just BOOM Flops. Done it for 4 years the Wrong way, and one year the Right way.

You can not over drive these super soft bullets and expect them to perform at 30yards[&:]They will explode and fragment most of the time. For those close shots, always go for the lungs, NOT the shoulders

If you want a fast over-driving bullet, try the Barnes Expander-all copper or the Shockwaves. They will take all you can give them, and just keep on going at all ranges

PS

Never lost a deer to a Powerbelt, wether they disintegrated or not! But the damage and meat loss was Extensive!!
