RE: INDIANA hunters
I went all day yesterday, had a nice buck coming right into my LOS. At 45 yards, a doe ran behind him into a thicket..at which time he turned and followed. Bah.
1 hour later, a group of roughly a dozen does/yearlings/fawns come out into the field. The fawns were jumping and playing in the sun, and were dead nuts right in front of me 20 yards out. The big does were last in the group to move past me, and I picked the biggest one out. She cut the corner, closest she came was 50 yards. Damnit.
I finished sighting in my muzzleloader when I got out of my stand. I've been having problems with Triple 7 primers. They pop, but then there is a delay until it sets the charge off...something like a ½ second or so. I switched back to Winchester primers, no problems since. As it turns out, I didn't even adjust my sights...dead on.
Today I had to stay home and do a few things around the house. I get the entire firearm season off of work, but I'd like to get one this year w/my bow. I could have shot many deer, but I really don't like wasting tags on fawns/yearlings/small bucks.
