You mentined the deer hunched up? The arrow might have been diverted a bit, but it sounds like your arrow is stuck in that deer. Not sure, but from what you have said, she probably ran with it in her. If it has been cool, you still might find her and she still be good. If not, you will get the next one. Good luck.
