Absolute in all 3 of the 700'sI have owned was .44 240gr Hornady XTP/Green sabot under 90 gr FFG 777 or 100gr Pyrodex. Though like alleyyooper mentioned they all seemed to shoot near anything you stuffed down the bore with a 90-100gr charge underneath. In the 700's I owned with 209 ignition (aftermarket 209 (cabela's) not rem factory) shot the best with Winchester 209W primers.
BTW myremaining700ML is setup to shoot 250barnes expanders with supplied sabot under 90gr FFG 777/209W primer for my whitetail needs where shots over 100 are not required. The load isn't quite as accurate as the 240XTP's but still good enough for me averaging 1.5" at 100 and I think is a better bullet if I have to take a shoulder shot at close range.
I also found my groups suffered without swapping after a couple shots. On the range when working on groups/loads i swapped between each shot, then would test followups to see what to expect in the field if a unswabbed follow up was required.
I would suggest you pick up the tool pictured above, as the bolt needs tobe taken apart and cleaned thoroughly. While it can be done without it, life is much easier with the little green tool

!
Best of luck and enjoy.
