One of my best times to hunt is in your so called lull. I usually cant hunt the rut because i usually shoot my buck in early to mid october in Central Wisconsin. Heres the last 4 years. Nice 8pt October 6th, 9pt (126)october 11th, 13pt (147)october 8th. Maybe its luck but i dont think so...
