use the tote it is cheap.....if you go the other way...use the activated carbon at a fish store...dont put any pine needles or dirt in the container...you will be contaminating your clothes with it...it will obsorbe all the odors of the needles and dirtand your suit will be fully saturated and defeat the purpuse. i got the tote it works great and the big carbon filter can be reactivated unlike the fish carbon... you can but it is hard to keep the fish carbon from spilling all over
