Default RE: shooting fawns

Around my area a Good sized Fawn (6 months old) will dress out at 80 lbs - sometimes more.

I've shot several when I was younger - and a couple times when filling permits - shot a fawn over a Doe on purpose.

I've got absolutely no problem shooting a fawn if its legal, and is in the best interest of managing the herd. Its been a couple years since I took a fawn - but I will again if I need to take a doe for our managment program, and only a fawn doe presents itself.

I will say the meat is different on a 6 month old deer. It definitely requires no aging, its usually very very lean - and you need to cook it rare (like most deer meat) to appreciate it.
