Default RE: how long will a deer be good in high temps.

not trying to burst your bubble....but i had one do that last year. ducked as it was ready to run. took the arrow high above the lungs and spine. first 100yds had me hopefull of a lung hit. 300 yards past that, i knew that deer was fine. i backed out for almost 2 hours. took 2-3hrs to track 400yds. 300yds was pin drops. NEVER bedded. i KNOW that deer never died. left blood that was pink/red muscle blood. easily could have been lung blood. my arrow was found a few feet from the shot...3-4" of shaft and broadhead in the deer and 7-8" of blood on the shaft.

called the crew out in the morning. think there was 7 of us or something like that. grid and circled for HOURS. left no leaf unturned. i know he lived to see another day.

not tryin to put you down....still gotta get out there and track and you guys did good backing out on a questionable hit. best of luck!! hope you guys recover it in the morning! never know...could hit an artery or caught lung...keep us updated!
